INSTUCTORS
Hollis Mackintosh, Director and Instructor( mackintosh@northernplainsdance.org ) began her dance training with Delia Foley, A.R.A.D. at Ballet Arts in Clarks Mills, New York. She went on to attend Butler University, performing lead roles with the Butler Ballet and the Indianapolis Opera before graduating in 2002 with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance with a secondary major in Arts Administration. While at Butler she also had the opportunity to dance with the Chamber Dance Project in New York City under the direction of Diane Coburn-Bruning. After graduation, she joined the Louisville Ballet. She spent two years dancing with the company before becoming a faculty member at the Louisville Ballet School. She went on to join the Cincinnati Ballet as a guest artist and then the Augusta Ballet as a full company member. After her first season with Northern Plains Ballet as a dancer, Ms. Mackintosh became the Academy Director and has now assumed the role of Director of Northern Plains Dance for it's second year.

 

Carly Schaub, Education Coordinator and Instructor (schaub@northernplainsdance.org) Carly Schaub is originally from Benson Utah where she began ballet training at the Cache Valley School of Ballet and leter attended the University of Wyoming, Laramie, graduating with a B.F.A. in dance. Ms. Schaub received additional dance training at Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival, Utah State University and Brigham Young University in Utah, and The Place, and Danceworks Studio in London. She also studied histroical dance (Renaissance and Baroque) under Marsha Knight, Phillippa Waite, and Ken Pierce and continues her own research. Ms. Schaub moved to North Dakota three years ago and has choreographed shows for BSC, Sleepy Hollow Summer Theatre, performed as a guest artist for North Dakota Ballet in Grand Forks, and is thrilled to be with Northern Plains Dance for her third year.

 

Meghann Theurer, Marketing Manager and Instructor ( dance@northernplainsdance.org ) has been dancing with Northern Plains Ballet since it began in 1998 and is now entering her fourth year as a faculty member at Northern Plains Dance Academy. She has performed major roles in NPBs productions including the Dew Drop Fairy, Spanish, and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, as well as other major roles in NPBs productions. She also competed in the Youth American Grand Prix in 2003 and has performed as a guest artist for North Dakota Ballet in Grand Forks. Ms. Theurer is excited to be back again this year and is currently a Senior at the University of Mary majoring in Mass Commnications.
